09-08 Near Hinckley on the Ashby canal
Tuesday 8th September: A rather cold and grey day. Had a slow start but we set off about10am goaded into action by the arrival of the grass cutting team wanting to cut right up to the edge of the canal. Slow procession to start with as the guy in front of us had left his TV ariel up and was looking for somewhere to turn the winding hole being some way from the moorings. Turned right onto the Ashby at Marston Junction and made slow progress up a rather shallow canal, finally mooring just after bridge 13 to get the fire lit. Had a walk round the field edge back to bridges with the dogs during the afternoon.
