Sunday 6th September: At last a decent sunny day, not always particularly hot but pleasant all the same. A steady procession of boats started about 8am mostly going in the same direction as us! So eventually we made ready and headed north. A pleasant enough cruise although there were far more boats on the move than we have seen for a while. However we arrived at Hillmorton duplicated top lock just after another boat and both went into a lock side by side without having to wait. Had to wait for the third lock for a bit though as one of the locks was out of action with bottom gates not opening properly. Emptied loo cassette and then filled up with water and carried onwards without further problems. Decided to moor up about 2pm and enjoy the sun at Clifton leaving Rugby for tomorrow so we can do a Tesco shop! Moored almost on the old bridge hole of the long closed Rugby & Stamford Railway.
