09-04 Braunston on the Grand Union

Friday 4th September: A dry and calm day today but that's as good as it gets, rather grey and not very warm!  Took a walk with the dogs back down the locks to lock 12 to watch what was going on

also Bridie went to the farm shop and we called in at Anchor cottage

again on the way back to PO.  Once back about midday we set off through Braunston tunnel (met one boat on the  way through) and down the first four (of six) locks.  So with only two broad locks left to do, almost the end of the Grand Union and our rather large circuit complete we booked a table for tonight at The Admiral to celebrate.  Meal excellent but service fairly diabolical eventually left after 2 hours not having received our coffees!
