Tuesday 16th June: A lovely sunny day! We had a slow start and went sightseeing and shopping in Wallingford having paid our £5 to the warden that came knocking on the boat just as I was about to take the dogs a walk. About midday we set off down river and only cruised as fay as Cleeve lock where we filled up with water and chatted to the owner of the dutch barge Anna. Once full we turned back up river about a mile and moored at Streatley looking back down towards Cleeve lock. Too warm to do much so chilled out by the side of the boat and Bridie caught up with lost sleep. Plenty of activity on the river including three steam boats
in procession down towards the lock.
Wednesday 17th June: Not quite so hot today and more cloud but still pretty warm. Both spent the morning on chores, Bridie cleaning inside the boat and I cleaned the starboard side down and had a general tidy up. During the afternoon we walked the dogs down by the lock and watched a Salters 'Steamer' going down the river. Returned to the boat for G&T and sherry watching the geese, kites and boats go by.
It returned empty later in the early evening.
