07-16 Shepperton on the River Thames

Thursday 16th July:  First item on the agenda today was to reverse up river and turn into Pyrford Marina onto the services.  Filled water tank, emptied loo, purchased gas and diesel.  Then reversed out and set off down river through New Hall and Coxes Locks.  Moored up just above Weybridge Town Lock and Bridie went into town to do a Waitrose shop for essentials. Once back and unpacked we had cup of tea and a sandwich for lunch before setting off down the lock and onto Thames Lock where we returned our River Wey windlass before descending onto the Thames.  Took the old channel to Shepperton and found a nice mown grass mooring not far from the church and cricket ground.  Spent the rest of the afternoon chilling out by the boat in rather humid cloudy conditions with the occasional burst of sunshine.  Spent the late evening watching a spectacular thunderstorm approach and pass overhead.
